Lost in the forest

Another really warm day today - we are enjoying the lovely weather so much.  Today is another ordinary day but with really nice things happening.  It's great to be eating meals outside, including breakfast.  Something we can't do very often.  I went out for a forest run with a friend this morning.  As there are a few new tracks laid we got a bit lost but it was a lovely run, in and out of the shade, quite hilly with views over the hills and the two dogs loved it too.  I felt like I had a really good workout.  While I was doing that Rick and the three youngest children went on a 6 mile bike ride (well Rick ran while the children cycled).
I started calorie and exercise tracking on myfitnesspal and it looks really good so hopefully it will be another tool on the journey.
Piano teaching friend came this afternoon for lessons then I walk 11yod to orchestra.  When summer comes and we flip into "experiential learning mode" it is amazing how much default learning the children do.  Who needs pens and books for learning - no-one all the time.  The children abosrb so much by being out and about and doing.  Summer is a wonderful time to be a home educating family and we are determined to enjoy this summer while Rick is off and with us.  Happy days.
